Karin Treyer

Karin Treyer is a senior researcher at Paul Scherrer Institute specialized in Life Cycle Assessment of energy systems. Karin has gained large experience in (prospective) LCA of the electricity sector as well as for instance production of hydrogen or synthetic jet fuel. Lately, she has even moved away from Earth to develop LCA methodologies to determine environmental impacts of space missions.Performing high-quality LCA studies of a quickly changing energy sector and related technologies requires the use of flexible tools, and open knowledge sharing is key to Karin to advance the LCA methodology in the speed needed nowadays. Thus, Karin had thrown herself into a not-so-easy start of using Brightway some years ago.
