Life cycle assessment of industrial process technologies

Applications are invited for a full time Research Associate/Fellow position in the field of techno-economic analysis (TEA) and life cycle assessment (LCA) applied to novel process technologies.

The successful applicant will work across multi-disciplinary teams and will have primary responsibility for the development of TEA and LCA methodologies and models. In this capacity the role holder will have opportunities to use their initiative and creativity to develop research methods and extend their research portfolio. Working closely with industry and academic partners will ensure models are comprehensive and suitable for informing the ongoing development and commercialisation of the technologies. The role holder will be expected to prepare their work for publication in appropriately targeted journals and other outputs.

Candidates must hold, or be about to obtain (or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in research area), a PhD in a relevant subject area, with a background in chemical or mechanical engineering being desirable. Experience developing process models and techno-economic assessments are requirement of this positions. Experience conducting life cycle assessments of emerging technologies is considered a strong asset. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex information is also essential.

This full-time (36.25 Hours) position will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 29 months. The position is available to start from October 2024. Job share arrangements may be considered.
