Event Details

We are thrilled to host our 2nd Edition of Sustainability Insights on "European Sustainable Products Initiative" on May 10-11, 2023 in Berlin, Germany, focusing on the new EcoDesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the upcoming Green Claims Directive.
Due to increasing material consumption and waste generation, it is crucial to keep resource consumption within planetary limits and to address biodiversity issues arising from resource extraction and processing. Accordingly, in the new Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) 2020, the European Commission has proposed a plan to implement binding requirements and principles for products on the EU market in the form of a legislative initiative for sustainable products.
This plan includes, among others, two directives on which we will focus during our event: The new EcoDesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) along with its Digital Products Passport tool, on which you can expect exciting insights on the first day of the event, and the Draft Green Claims Directive, which we seek to discuss and review throughout the second day to develop recommendations for the forthcoming legislative implementation process. Further insights will be provided in a special session on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Having successfully organized the 1st Edition of our Sustainability Insights entirely virtually, we are pleased to host this year's event in hybrid form. We are looking forward to not only welcoming you on-site in Berlin but also virtually those of you who prefer remote participation. Much like with our hybrid Life Cycle Innovation Conference, we will provide a dedicated virtual space for the group workshops to complement the inputs received during the physical discussions. Still, we recommend joining us physically in Berlin to benefit from a more immersive and engaging experience and exchange throughout the event.
Either way, you can look forward to an insightful and inspiring mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive workshops with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure a broad and in-depth exchange of knowledge and ideas, and to expand your connections and networks.
Please note: In response to various requests, we have now also added an option to purchase day tickets for our event for physical participants to allow for more flexible participation.
