About our International Summer School on Life Cycle Approaches for Sustainable Regional Development
This Life Cycle Summer School (LCSS) is an opportunity for (young) professionals and regional managers as well as students to learn how to extend evolving life cycle management tools into new application areas in sustainable development. The objective is to encourage use of promising Life Cycle Management tools by stakeholders who have not so far employed these techniques extensively. This includes regional institutions, research teams, companies and industrial associations that wish to enhance the effectiveness of their sustainability initiatives. Our Summer School is also aimed at life cycle professionals and academics interested in broadening their client base by offering new applications. Each year, the Summer School’s theme focuses on a different topic related to regional sustainable development.
The Organizer
The Life Cycle Summer School is organized by the Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI). We manage the Summer School since 2015 as part of our mission and vision to support advancing life cycle knowledge globally. The University of Salento initiated the Summer School series in 2011 and remains an important partner to its conduct also in other locations.
FSLCI is a multi-stakeholder and membership-based community organization for professionals working in business, science and policy organizations who are interested in and working with Life Cycle approaches to enhance the sustainability of economic activities. We organize workshops, summer schools, webinars and other events around life cycle thinking and provide the global life cycle community with an online platform to collaborate and engage with one another.
