Your mission
Under the supervision of the HSE Manager and the Product Manager, you will contribute to the implementation and structuring of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) applied to an innovative industrial product in the steel industry, in connection with the challenges of decarbonization and environmental performance.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
• Defining the objective and scope of the LCA
• Modeling the product life cycle
• Conducting the life cycle inventory (LCI) using internal data and recognized databases
• Assessing environmental impacts (climate, energy, resources, water, etc.)
• Analyzing scenarios (comparing technical solutions or processes)
Collection and structuring of industrial data
• Collection of production data (energy, materials, consumables, yields)
• Interaction with production, process, quality, and R&D teams
• Formalization and traceability of assumptions and data used
Tools and modeling
• Data processing and structuring using Excel (or equivalent)
• Contribution to improving internal environmental assessment methods
Analysis and reporting
• Critical interpretation of results
• Identification of key levers for reducing environmental impacts
• Drafting of a clear and usable summary report for technical and decision-making teams
• Participation in promoting the results within a sustainable innovation framework
Your profile
• Engineering or bioengineering student (Bachelor’s +4 or +5) or Master’s student in environment, industrial engineering, materials science, or technology
• Strong interest in life cycle assessment and the challenges of decarbonization and eco-design
• Desired skills: Excel and data analysis, basic knowledge of LCA, eco-design, or carbon footprint, knowledge of or willingness to learn LCA software
• Rigor, analytical skills, and critical thinking
• Autonomy and ease in communicating with technical contacts
• Good level of English in an international industrial environment
Internship duration
4 to 6 months (minimum 3 months)
