    We are excited to share three new publications from the MarILCA working group, which represent a major step forward in quantifying the environmental footprint of plastics.

    Microplastics: A new regionalized fate model and characterization factors for marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2025.147217).

    Textiles: Research comparing the persistence and ecosystem damage of cellulosic microfibers vs. synthetic microplastics (https://doi.org/10.1093/inteam/vjag007).

    Fisheries: New case studies on anchoveta and cod fisheries highlighting the critical need to include plastic emissions in seafood LCA (https://doi.org/10.1007/s11367-026-02607-2).
