The Circular Economy Barcamp Berlin seeks to bring together a broad range of stakeholders working towards creating a Circular Economy. Unlike traditional conferences, barcamps are self-organized events where anyone can propose to run a group discussion on a specific topic. Participants have 30sec to present their idea for a session at the beginning of the barcamp, then the audience will directly vote on each proposal. If there is enough interest in the room for the proposed session, a time slot and room will be assigned! Sessions are meant to be highly interactive discussions, not lectures and thus barcamps involve participants more than any other event format.

Best ideas are sparked through dialogue, that’s why we are organizing the first ever Circular Economy Barcamp Berlin! We tested the format during our Life Cycle Innovation Conference, which we organized in 2018 and ran one third of the conference program with the barcamp format. Participants enjoyed the barcamp sessions a lot, or as Peter Saling (BASF) said: “The barcamps were a cool idea!”
