Researcher, Ghent University
Wouter De Soete is a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University on Sustainability Assessment with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry and the raw material sector. He holds a PhD and MSc in Bioscience Engineering. He is currently active in the field of Life Cycle Innovation and Management and its integration in stage gating and development processes within businesses. He holds a black belt in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and works on integrating the ‘lean heritage’ of Operational Excellence in Life Cycle Thinking.

The lack of sufficient quantitative process and supply chain data in early R&D phases can be problematic in order to derive experience curves. The establishment of a set of forecasting equations with readily available predictor variables as a streamlined Life Cycle Assessment method to calculate certain impacts will be exemplified in this module.
