Event Details
The FSLCI is organizing jointly with the Fraunhofer Umsicht Institute and the University of Bordeaux a workshop on Marine Litter and LCA. A number of projects have been launched in recent years to work on various aspects of integrating marine litter and plastic emissions into life cycle assessment. Projects are currently mostly focused on either the inventory, or the impact assessment side. The workshop is thus meant to focus on the link between life cycle inventory and life cycle impact assessment of marine litter and plastic emissions. It is planned to focus on two key elements:
- Marine litter and plastic emmissions’ life cycle inventory flows and their integration into LCA software
- Modelling of a fate factor
Morning: Marine litter and plastic emmissions’ life cycle inventory flows and their integration into LCA software
08.00 Welcome & round of introduction
08.30 Short project pitches by various speakers to set the stage
09.15 Workshop in small groups (max. 5 people per group) | Target is to engage people and to develop a list of requirements for inventory flows in LCA software
10.30 Coffee break
11.00 Short presentation of each group (max. 5 min.)
11.30 Consolidation phase and development of a task list | Target is to identify research gaps and develop corresponding tasks
12:30 Lunch
Afternoon: Modelling of a fate factor
13.30 Short pitches by various speakers to set the stage
14.00 Workshop in small groups (max. 5 people per group)
15.00 Short presentation of each group (max. 5 min.)
15.30 Coffee break
16.00 Intensive discussion within small groups (newly build groups, one group member of the former groups each should form a new group) | Target is to deepen the discussion and develop requirements for a fate factor
16.30 Discussion in the whole group and derivation of work packages to develop a fate factor
17.15 Development of a task list | Target is to identify research gaps and develop corresponding tasks
18.00 End of workshop
