Event Details
Circular Economy is the new hot topic among decision-makers on a policy level. The European Commission for example has developed its Circular Economy Action Plan and recently outlined its 2018 Circular Economy Package. But not only on a European, but also national and regional level the push for a Circular Economy has become a major driver for sustainability efforts. Silvia Barbero, Assistant Professor in Design at Politecnico di Torino, will discuss the Circular Economy from various perspectives and focus especially on the concept’s relevance for regions. Due to her role as the scientific director of Interreg Europe’s RETRACE project on “A Systemic Approach for Regions Transitioning towards a Circular Economy“, she will provide insights into how to use systemic design as a method to implement local and regional policies that help move towards a circular economy.
