Speakers for this event

  • Eva Risch

    Eva Risch

    Research Engineer

Eva Risch graduated from the Bordeaux Higher National School of Physics and Chemistry in September 2009 with an engineering background in physics and chemistry and a research masters in environmental chemistry. In May 2010, Eva joined the ELSA Team as a Irstea research engineer. Her role is to help develop Life Cycle Assessment methodologies by carrying research on certain environmental processes. She has focused on wastewater treatment efficiencies, comparing a conventional activated sludge wastewater treatment plant with a vertical flow constructed wetland as part of a Irstea – ONEMA (French National Agency for Water and Aquatic Environments) collaboration. Her interests include elemental mass balances in the studied processes, which allow one to quantify their utility functions as per the treatment of waste waters.

    Research Engineer

  • Philippe Roux

    Philippe Roux

    Director of Industrial Chair ELSA-PACT

Since 2008, Researcher on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) within the ITAP-ELSA research group. Research on environmental impacts, Ecodesign, LCA, Water footprinting, process engineering, etc. Director of industrial Chaire ELSA-PACT.
Before 2007, research engineer (mechanical design, process engineering) in charge of former Mechatronics laboratory (1999-2004). Previous experiences in private companies (Caterpillar France and engineering office Decobecq)

    Director of Industrial Chair ELSA-PACT

Event Details

First, the presentation will focus on the specificities of the application of LCA to urban water systems for the four phases of LCA (Goal & scope, Life Cycle inventory, impact assessment, and interpretation).  Case studies will illustrate various issues for wastewater treatment, potable water production and distribution, water reuse and stormwater management.  Then, the webinar will end with the latest advances in research (dynamic LCAs, micropollutant inclusion, Water Supply Mix, among others).

The webinar will be presented by Philippe Roux & Eva Risch from the ELSA-PACT Chair
