Harmonisation of Product Category Rules (PCR) IS fundamental to achieve consistency within the use of lifecycle-based environmental information and the development of Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) at the global and regional markets.

There is a need for EPD programme operators and PCR-developers to actively engage in reaching harmonization measures between their EPD programmes, so that the performance data of manufacturers’ products and services become comparable.
