Winter School on Circular Economy

The agenda on Circular Economy is now discussed actively at the National and State levels. NITI Aayog in partnership with EU Resource Efficiency Initiative (REI) published this year, Status report on Resource Efficiency and in addition four in depth sector
specific reports. The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has drafted a National Policy on Resource Efficiency that is expected to be finalized by end of this year. Several chambers of commerce, financing institutions and think tanks have come up with findings on the opportunities and challenges in circular economy.

In this context, Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation, IIT Madras and Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) announce India’s First Winter School on Circular Economy. This unique School will take place on the campus of IIT Madras between November 18-20 with participation of around 20 top experts.

The School will cover topics such policies and strategies on Circular Economy -International and Indian experience, Themes like Textiles, Plastic, Water; Business models and Financing Circular Economy. There will engaging Panels and interactive group sessions on Design Thinking and Regional Circular Economy. The participants will also have opportunities to meet the Entrepreneurs and Investors.

A field visit to a wastewater recycling facility is included.
