Event Details
As part of the 16th International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications (ICCSA 2016) that will take place in Beijing, China on July 4-7, 2016, LIST will co-organise the workshop “Computational Algorithms for Sustainability Assessment” (CLASS 2016).
ABOUT CLASS 2016
This workshop aims at presenting methods and applications rooted in different scientific domains, which are envisioned to provide a valid contribution to the modern developments in the assessment of the environmental impacts linked to human activities. A distinguishing feature of the workshop is its interdisciplinary nature. It aims at advancing on the path towards an integrated operational framework for Quantitative Sustainability Assessment, enhancing cooperation of scientists belonging to different disciplines under the overarching umbrella of a lifecycle based perspective.
The workshop welcomes contributions encompassing (the list is not exhaustive):
- Machine learning for environmental data analysis, modelling and visualization. Geostatistics, remote sensing and advanced Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications;
- Biophysically based models to study human interaction with ecosystem services;
- Agent Based Modeling (ABM) for sustainability assessment;
- Computational approaches for Life Cycle Costing;
- Dynamic Life Cycle Inventory modelling;
- Sensor networks for environmental data harvesting;
- Network Analysis applications to natural and technological systems analysis;
- Multi Objective Optimization involving environmental constraints;
- Emergy accounting of complex systems;
- Use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) tools for resource optimization;
- Social data mining application to inform sustainability policies;
- Uncertainty modeling (fuzzy techniques, Bayesian approaches, etc.);
PROCEEDINGS
The proceedings of the workshop will be published in the Springer collection Lecture Notes on Computer Science (LNCS).
