Welcome Message from the new Board of Directors View this email in your browser
Dear *|FNAME|*,
Today I’m writing you on behalf of the newly elected Board of Directors, which has been voted into office on the 2nd of September in Bordeaux, France. First of all we would like to thank all members that participated in the General Assembly. In total, 45 of our members participated and determined that the new Board should be filled by seven members. We’re happy to inform you today that the following members have been elected to form the new Board of Directors:
We would furthermore like to inform you that during the first call of the Board of Directors the members of the Board elected Anne-Marie Boulay as the Vice Chair, and myself – Martina Prox – as the Chair of our Board.
Furthermore we’re happy to announce that Jim Fava, Guido Sonnemann and Philip Strothmann were appointed to continue serving the FSLCI as the Executive Committee. The Board of Directors is grateful that Philip, Guido and Jim are willing to continue their engagement for the FSLCI and we look forward to working together with them in going forward.
We have also set up a Communication Committee. Ana Quiros and Jodie Bricout will drive the activities and the member involvement of the Communication Committee, first within FSLCI, but in preparation to support all of our members in their efforts to get life cycle messages across to the different target audiences. The Committee is meant to build upon the many great ideas that were developed during our communications workshop that took place on the 3rd of September in Bordeaux.
As part of the strategic alliances of the FSLCI with national and regional Life Cycle Associations, the Regional Networks Coordination Committee has also been established. Philip Strothmann will be driving the interaction with the partnerships and will get this Committee operational together with representatives from our partner organisations.
For this year the Board’s priority is to drive membership of both individual and organizational members to broaden the basis of the community and also ensure a more robust funding of the FSLCI. To this end we rely on your support to spread the word and help us growing the FSLCI.
The Board also decided to develop a strategy with a concrete road map for the next two years that will help us to prioritize and keep track of the FSLCI’s goals and objectives. It should also provide you with a clear view what you can expect from us during the time that we serve as your Board of Directors. This will require some more time, but we would like to start into 2016 with a clear strategy for the FSLCI’s development.
Now, of course we are here to represent your interests as members of the FSLCI and as such your ability to interact with us is of key importance. As a means of communication we would like to use the member space of our platform on our website to facilitate our communication and enhance transparency. But certainly you are also more than welcome to approach the individuals of both the Board and the Executive Committee directly, e.g. if you would like to get feedback or advice before you post your idea or suggestion, or would like a specific Forum to be opened for your topic in our member space. We will start using the platform more proactively and look forward to engage in interesting discussions with you there.
Finally, on behalf of all seven board members, I would like to thank you – all the members – for your trust and encouragement expressed to us by voting us into office. We will try to serve you to the best of our knowledge and abilities and look forward to grow and shape FSLCI together with you over the course of the coming two years.
Kind regards,
Martina (on behalf of Anne-Marie, Ana, Jodie, Chalaka, Masahiko and Stephan)
