During the forthcoming World Resources Forum, which will take place from 24 – 27 February in Antwerp, the FSLCI will jointly organize a workshop together with IUCN on Marine Litter.
The workshop, which is organized under the heading “Plastic for Lunch – How to Best Address the Issue of Marine Litter?” builds on both organizations’ work in the field of marine litter and is meant to be an interactive and solutions-oriented exercise. It is going to take place on the 25th from 2 – 3:30pm.
Marine Litter is rapidly becoming one of the most visible and high profile global issues. In response, governments and companies are making plastics pledges, re-designing products, working with waste management companies at end of life, and are looking into banning certain plastics. However, not all alternatives might have a better sustainability performance! Understanding trade-offs of alternative solutions is thus key to ensure the that the right decision.
We invite anyone who is participating at the WRF to join our workshop and learn more about how to address marine litter from a life cycle perspective!
