The Solar Impulse Foundation led by Bertrand Piccard has launched the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions bringing together the main actors involved in developing, financing or promoting products, services, processes and technologies that protect the environment in a profitable way. It is the next phase after the successful first solar flight: selecting 1000 solutions that can protect the environment in a profitable way, and bring them to decision makers to encourage them to adopt much more ambitious environmental targets and energy policies.
To this end, the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions will assess all solutions submitted by Members, with the help of independent sustainability, technology and finance Experts, and select 1000 of the most promising ones. They will be labelled as Efficient Solutions and presented to governments, businesses and institutions at COP 24 by Bertrand Piccard to encourage them to adopt more ambitious environmental targets and energy policies.
For this the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions is not only looking for solutions but also creating a pool of external experts supporting the World Alliance in handling this task in an impartial manner in the upcoming months.
Ralph Schneider, Expert Manager of the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions, will introduce the new initiative and will explain why they need the support from the experts of the FSLCI and the global life cycle community.
