We are happy to share with you that the Life Cycle Initiative launched GLAM 1.0.2024.10 at the SETAC Europe 26th LCA Symposium in Gothenburg, Sweden. As highlighted during the launch, GLAM provides a globally consistent framework for assessing ecosystem, human health, and socio-economic impacts across product life cycles.
The process to develop GLAM started in 2013 and the now launched GLAM 1.0.2024.10 is the result of a comprehensive and global stakeholder engagement process which involved diverse stakeholders, including industry, academia, NGOs, and government agencies. GLAM 1.0.2024.10 provides a standardized method to assess impacts on ecosystem quality, human health, and socio-economic assets (natural resources, ecosystem services). The launch version now also includes a consistent approach to classification, normalization, and weighting, enabling comparisons across regions.
We congratulate the Life Cycle Initiative and all stakeholders involved on the successful launch of GLAM 1.0.2024.10. More information on GLAM is available here.
