Jointly together with the University of Bordeaux, the FSLCI organized a workshop on Life Cycle Approaches to Regional Sustainable Development from 4-5 March in Bordeaux. The workshop convened stakeholders from eight European regions and various experts around Circular Economy and LCA.

The workshop was organized specifically for regional representatives and their scientific advisers to engage with them on how to bring life cycle approaches to regions. The workshop was also meant to serve as a starting point for a more structured outreach programs that the FSLCI’s Working Group on Regional Sustainable Development is currently working on.

The workshop convened in total around 20 participants and offered not only talks from experts, but also dedicated time for open discussions. Participants concluded that approaches and initiatives around Circular Economy and LCA can be quite useful for regions but need to be adapted for the regional context. It also became clear that Life Cycle Approaches are so far not really used by the regions present at the workshop. A more comprehensive workshop report with key messages will be published in the coming weeks.

Very interesting topic! And I fully agree with the main conclusion here reported. Where the workshop report will be available?

Dear Francesca, thanks for the feedback. The workshop report will be published in a few weeks, probably around Mid-April 🙂
