We wish you all a great start into the new year! 2022 was quite a successful year for the FSLCI and we would like to thank you for supporting our journey throughout the year.
Our highlight of 2022 was the 3rd Life Cycle Innovation Conference, which we organized at the end of June in Berlin as a hybrid event. It was amazing to be able to reconnect with many of you in Berlin and at the same time allow participation from all over the world. We were absolutely thrilled by the positive feedback we received and can’t wait for LCIC 2024.
After two years of running our Life Cycle Summer School virtually, we were also really happy to welcome this year’s participants to Gothenburg for LCSS 2022, where we enjoyed a few awesome days at the end of August thanks to our hosting partner IVL.
In addition to these two stand-out events, we organized a number of webinars and had great discussions with our members during our Innovation X Change sessions. We are also really happy with the progress by the MarILCA project this year, which we continue to support and are very much looking forward to the upcoming publication of the follow-up paper by our Working Group on LCA in Higher Education based on this year’s global survey on the subject.
Finally, we ended the year on a high note with the launch of the Jim Fava Life Cycle Summer School Fund in recognition of Jim’s outstanding career and in view of his retirement. Jim has been a fantastic co-founder and chairman of the FSLCI and we wish him all the best for his retirement.
All in all, it was a really great year for the FSLCI and we have quite a lot planned for 2023. We are looking forward to collaborating with many of you in the new year to spread life cycle innovation around the world!
