We are happy to share with you today that we recently published a perspective paper on the question “How to account for plastic emissions in life cycle inventory analysis?”. The short paper outlines a few key challenges that still need to be addressed as part of currently ongoing method development processes and highlights besides other some issues related to plastic emissions’ rather complex pathways.
The perspective paper is an outcome of the workshop on “Linking the Life Cycle Inventory and Impact Assessment of Marine Litter and Plastic Emissions” which we organized in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology UMSICHT and the Université de Bordeaux on the 18.03.2020.
