DCRAM in Practice: A Blueprint for National Resilience

Main Presenter:    Asanka Wittachy

Co-Authors:

This brief presentation will reintroduce the DCRAM framework, which integrates life cycle thinking with dynamic climate risk modelling, socio-economic analysis, and adaptive resource management. The core focus will be to collaboratively develop all aspects of DCRAM as a nationally comprehensive, globally replicable climate resilience and adaptation strategy. As a representative tropical belt nation facing acute climate vulnerabilities, Sri Lanka serves as the ideal test case to validate a model applicable to many of the world’s most populous and resource-constrained countries.

We will stress that an endeavour of this magnitude—aiming to inform national policy, infrastructure planning, and community-level adaptation—cannot be undertaken in isolation by the AmPark Foundation. It demands a coalition of partners bringing expertise in regional LCA databases, socio-economic modelling, agriculture, water systems, infrastructure, renewable energy, and policy design. This presentation will argue that the LCA community, with its unique systems-thinking perspective and growing corporate leadership in sustainability, is the essential nucleus for such a consortium and invite LCA members to collaborate.
