The Sustainability Support and Information Centre (SSIC) is an acceleration and validation project within the KIC EIT RawMaterials, coordinated by Ghent University, with 17 partners from 9 European countries.
The main objective of this Network of Expertise is to support industry, technology developers and policy makers in the sustainable design of products and services within the circular economy. For this, SSIC provides a toolbox of methods and expertise on Sustainability Assessment and Life Cycle Management.
SSIC provides information on sustainability of material stocks, evidence on resource efficiency, analysis of critical raw material savings, guidance on innovation options for life cycle impact hotspots, sustainable up-scaling scenarios, socio-economic cost and benefits, job creation potential of new technologies, market potential, recyclability benefits of new waste valorisation options, etc.
During this workshop what SSIC is will be explained, an overview of the services provided by the project will be given and a discussion on the future and financial sustainability of such service provision will be done all together.
