Corona Virus Statement
– LCIC 2020 postponed to 26-28th of August
– Abstracts can be submitted again until the end of March
– Early Bird Deadline is moved to the end of April
We would like to address the current situation with regards to the global spread of the SARS-CoV-2 (Corona) virus and its implications for our Life Cycle Innovation Conference scheduled to take place in June 2020 in Berlin, Germany.
The unprecedented situation caused by the global spread of the virus has put us in a difficult position to determine the best way forward. However, as the safety and well being of all our event participants is our highest priority, we have decided to postpone our conference to the 26 – 28th of August. We are convinced that rescheduling our conference now offers the best option to minimize any inconveniences for our participants and partners as well as for the FSLCI as the host organization.
We are basing our decision on guidance from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Commission, the German Public Health Authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO). While it is difficult to project the situation in June, we understand that the containment of the spread of the virus is of utmost importance. As such various restrictions and guidelines have been put in place for events in Europe. While we hope that these restrictions do apply in June anymore, we are believe that we have a significantly higher chance to successfully organize our event in August.
Given the new dates for the conference, we are understand that not everybody who submitted an abstract might be able to attend. We have thus contacted all submitters to verify their submission status and are re-opening the possibility to submit abstracts for the rescheduled conference. Abstracts can be submitted again from now on until the end of the March. As a result, the Early Bird Deadline has also been rescheduled to the end of April.
We are well aware that it is extremely difficult to decide on future plans in these uncertain times. Having said that, we hope that with our decision to postpone the conference to August, we make it also easier for you to still support us by registering for the conference. The FSLCI, as a small non-profit organization with highly limited resources, relies to a large extend on the successful organization of events such as LCIC 2020 and thus we hope that despite the change of date, you will continue to support us by registering for the LCIC 2020.
We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and hope to be able to welcome you to our conference in August!
