This study presents the development and implementation of MUST Zero, an integrated smart campus system designed for the Macau University of Science and Technology to facilitate a data-driven transition toward carbon neutrality. The system synthesizes diverse functions, including comprehensive carbon assessment across Scopes 1, 2, 3, and 4, predictive modeling, and an Organizational Life Cycle Assessment (O-LCA), real-time greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring, full campus visualized through a Digital Twin system. A primary innovation of the MUST Zero platform is its ability to automate the generation of GHG reports and streamlined the Green Building Certification process, significantly reducing manual administrative overhead. Furthermore, by being among the first digital university platforms to incorporate Scope 4 (avoided emissions) and a dedicated O-LCA model, the system provides a holistic framework for campus-wide sustainability. The study details the system’s modular architecture and
its role in fostering carbon inclusiveness, offering a scalable technological benchmark for campus GHG assessment and regional policy development.
